Plant Sales Manager

Direct project development and sales activities to move projects from a conceptual stage through contract negotiation.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Lead the development and proposal phases of gas-based sales projects as directed by Plant Sales Director.

·         Participate directly in contract negotiations with potential clients.

·         Prepare and give presentations to prospective clients, consultants, and project partners.

·         Identify situations requiring the need for confidentiality/secrecy agreements with outside companies to help protect technology.

·         Prepare feasibility studies, market studies, and other studies as required to develop assigned projects.

·         Develop and maintain schedules and milestones for project development and sales activities.

·         Provide information for maintaining the sales project development database.

·         Prepare reports as required to keep management informed of project activities.

·         Assist Plant Sales Director with preparation of cost evaluation and pricing development for management review.

·         Take responsibility for making sure proposal and contract development comply with the company’s ISO procedures.

·         When required, assist the small projects sales effort to propose and secure contracts with existing Process Licensees.

·         Prepare/present papers and attend conferences and seminars in support of commercial activities.

·         Assist the business development group with potential opportunities in the form of analysis and discussions.

·         Support Plant Sales Director in communications and relationships with existing and potential construction licensees.

·         Maintain close contact with commercial and technical groups to keep abreast of new developments in the company and technology.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

 

BS technical, Business Administration or Marketing degree.  Minimum of 7-10 years experience in a DR or steel related environment.  Excellent writing and oral presentation skills in both English and Russian languages.  Ability to effectively interface with all types of people inside and outside the company.  Ability to organize and manage multiple sales projects and other activities.  Ability and willingness to travel internationally.  Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based PC hardware/software equipment and programs.

 

 

MECHANICAL ENGINEER –   REPORTS TO:    PROJECT MANAGER –

Provide design of systems and equipment associated with the design and construction of plants and new technology innovations.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform designs and mechanical analyses through calculations basic to Mechanical Engineering.

Sketch conceptual design, transferring ideas to the designers for development of mechanical drawings.

Coordinate the mechanical design effort by acting as Lead Mechanical Engineer for a particular project by:

            (a)        directing the efforts of assigned engineers and designers for the layout of equipment, etc.,

            (b)        checking mechanical drawings, calculations, sketches, etc. for the project,

            (c)        developing specifications/requisitions for support of purchasing effort, and

            (d)        review and approve purchasing quotations, vendor drawings, and QA documents.

Support purchasing technically with review of vendor submittals and on-site inspections of mechanical equipment.

Provide direction and technical support for other engineers and designers.

Analyze equipment for current technology.

Check drawings and drafting for adherence to designs.

Review designs and assist Senior Engineers and Management by making suggestions to improve an existing or proposed design relative to its function.

Travel to job sites to analyze equipment, collect data and information, interact with plant personnel, and gain experience valuable to design considerations (i.e., operating conditions, temperature considerations, etc.).

Travel on business trips and/or field assignments as required to carry out departmental tasks and functions.

Write Technical Specifications for the mechanical equipment design, fabrication, procurement, etc.

Provide support to the Sales and Estimating groups in preparation of proposals, including sizing and selection of equipment, plant layout, and engineering man-hour estimates.

Work as a “team player” with all company departments and employees in all assignments.  Work toward building consensus on all assignments by finding solutions which meet the best interests of all parties involved.

 

REQUIREMENTS

BS Mechanical Engineering degree. 

5-15 years of hands-on experience in a technical environment, preferably related to petrochemical, heavy industrial or the steel industry environment. 

Knowledge of and experience with PC and DOS hardware/software equipment and programs.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes for long continuous periods of time.  Ability to move around a project site, including climbing on structures.

Excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills. 

Ability to meet schedule deadlines.

 

Additional notes:  It is an aftermarket position. They prefer someone to build it, fix it and various modifications on-site. 10%-25% travel Salary at $65-100K.

 

SENIOR EQUIPMENT ENGINEER  REPORTS TO: CHIEF – PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT

Sr. Mechanical Designer

GENERAL FUNCTION:

 

Provide conceptual and detailed design of systems/components used during project execution.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Take direction from Management, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.

·         Give direction to designers and contract personnel.

·         Perform manual and computer aided drafting necessary to create mechanical drawings for the basic and detailed engineering of a plant.

·         Make conceptual designs, sketches and ideas for engineers and detailers to develop the necessary details.

·         Travel to job sites to direct installation contractors, perform analyses of existing equipment, ducting routes, piping routes, layouts, etc. for use in developing future plans, proposals, etc.

·         Perform checking of mechanical drawings for consistency with conceptual ideas, design, sketches,  etc.

·         Be proficient in the use of computer aided drafting and design software such as AutoCad.

·         Suggest design changes that might improve the desired results of the design.

·         Assist engineers by suggesting design changes that might improve the desired results of the design.

·         Write requisitions, quotations, specifications, technical writings, etc.

Controls Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:  (OVERALL PURPOSE, WHY THIS POSITION EXISTS)

Designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.   May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. The engineer must be Familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures used in the packaging industry.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be multitasking with the ability to run factory acceptance test along with site acceptance test and program other projects that haven’t reached the acceptance stage.

 Position requires a hands-on person who can manage and participate in all aspects of machinery design, manufacture, installation and continuous improvement this would require an excellent communicator who can work with project managers, shop floor personnel, other controls engineers, service technicians, and end-users. 

Will work under general supervision; typically reporting to the engineering manager.  A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:  (MAJOR END RESULTS FOR WHICH THIS JOB IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE)

  • Manages and maintains all electrical drawing, program and BOM changes for machinery.
  • Creates new control system designs (drawings, programs, BOM) for machinery and systems to apply latest technology while meeting cost and technical specifications.
  • Manages and participates in existing machinery controls redesign, upgrade, retrofit and cost reduction
  • Manufacturing support (production, shop floor, purchasing, vendors) – works with these groups to implement cost reduction and increased manufacturing efficiency
  • Works closely with shop team leader to address and resolve electrical issues as they arise.
  • Project support for existing machinery.  Works with Project Managers on project/customer specific changes and requests.
  • Works closely with mechanical engineers to determine proper components to attain speed and accuracy for special applications
  • Works with sales and applications personnel to determine feasibility of projects and specifying the proper controls systems.
  • Works with service engineers to troubleshoot field issues.  
  • Participates in machine startup, debug, and on site installations.
  • Provides continuous customer support on applications service cannot handle
  • Manages and participates in continual cost reduction and machine improvement projects
  • Works with project managers to keep project costs within budget
  • Up to 25% travel, most in the U.S.

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE SPECIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering.

·         6 – 10 years experience in the electrical design and manufacture of high-speed machinery.  Involvement from initial design to installation and continuous improvement.  Installation and debug participation a must.

·         Extensive experience with Allen-Bradley controls platform.

·         Extensive experience with Rockwell RSView ME.

·         Extensive experience with RS500, RS5000 and associated processors, PanelView Plus, PowerFlex, Ultra and Kinetix drives, Ethernet, DH Plus, DH485, and SERCOS networks.

·         Apply a solid working knowledge and experience of: PLC programming, VFDs, Servo motors and drives, HMIs, and communication networks all including Rockwell / Allen-Bradley; safety devices; motors; sensors; transducers; temperature controllers; and power distribution (under 600V) to support projects for process improvement, quality control and safety.

·         5+ years AutoCad experience.

·         Robot programming experience, preferably ABB.

·         Excellent communication skills.

Project Engineer –

Recommend, scope, plan, design, develop and execute projects using TPM based Early Management tools and sound business rational. Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing processes and facilities to improve all plant metrics. Support plant efforts through technical assistance and troubleshooting of installed equipment and recommendation of new capital investments. Prepare Project Requirements for, select and manage Contractors as necessary to support project execution. Comply with corporate, federal, state, and all local regulations and standards including EPA, OSHA, building and electrical codes.

 

Responsibilities:

Support plant with strategic capital investment using all TPM based Early Management Tools including Black Hats, Life-cycle Costing, Design for Reliability and Operability, Autonomous and Specialized Maintenance and Vertical Start Up.

Support plant with technical leadership and facilitation of Root Cause Analysis, Focused Improvement, FMEA (Modes Effects Analysis), VSM (Value Stream Mapping) and Kaizen.

Develop plan for equipment FATs (Factory Acceptance Testing). Expected to lead plant personnel through FAT process from concept to production.

Participate in the development of Start Up planning with plant personnel to identify all additional labor requirements, scrap produced and start up inefficiencies.

Ensure that all projects are completed with proper technical documentation, training, OPLs (One Point Lessons), spare parts lists and support contacts based on FMEA and plant input. Develop and use standard project turnover and close out check lists.

Liaison between Marketing and Plant Teams to champion existing product capabilities, identify equipment needs and Installation and Operational requirements for new products.

Provide support and leadership for plant SEs, REs, Maintenance and Maintenance Planning. Key technical contributor for each technical function.

Consider safety and ergonomic requirements to all equipment and layouts.

Servant Leader who’s approach to engineering is focused upon leveraging plant teams from the floor and a wide range of SMEs.

Hold all vendors and contractors accountable to all fiduciary commitments and GMP and safety practices.

Set performance guarantee criteria for all suppliers and vendors supplying equipment and solutions. Accountable for ensuring supplier and vendor commitments are fully met.

Complete all projects on time, within budget and within scope and stated results.

Lead plant teams through and participate in the Capital Planning Process. Expected to lead the development of the 3 year CapEx strategic plan with a focus on cost savings, essential, and performance enhancement projects.

Work with vendors and contractors through competitive bidding and negotiations to achieve guaranteed solutions for the lowest cost.

Develop project timelines and milestones around plant production commitments to ensure project completion. Utilized Gantt charts or the like to communicate project timelines and progress.

Leverage standardization and Reliability Centered Maintenance principles to support plant Maintenance.

Knowledge and expertise in innovative approaches to reducing plant energy requirements.

Communicate effectively both internally and with all customers to update status.

Support employee development through facility and systems training programs.

Project Engineer must have engineering experience in manufacturing environment.  Experience in food industry is a plus.  Packaging experience such as in food industry is a must.  Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Bachelor’s Degree. 5 years of Project Engineering, Reliability Engineering or System Engineering experience preferred. Experience in Total Productive Maintenance tools and their execution greatly preferred.
People management experience and organizational skills required.  Excellent writing and oral presentation skills required.  Ability to interface with all levels of company, subcontractor and client personnel.  Willingness and ability to travel domestically.  Ability to move around project sites, including climbing structures as required.
